This is my first tutorial about
text-effects. Nothing major or anything.
Just a simple text-effect. I have tracked down the first version of
EyeCandy,
BlackBox and I am going to use that filter. It's great and I am
going to share it with you all :-)
For this tutorial
you are going to need:
PSP
7 (well, that's the version I use)
BlackBox Filter
a nice font
Open PSP. Go to
file, new and create a new
image with these settings:
Click on the text
button: . I've chosen
the font Touch of Nature because I love my bold
fonts and some effects come across better with
a bold font. Click in the middle of your new image
and type your name with these settings (you can alter your
settings if you've used a different font):
Your text is now
floating. Drag you text to the middle of your image. You can
drag your text around after you've clicked on this button:
Okies.......now we
are going to apply a glass-effect with the BlackBox
filter. Go to effects, plugin filters, alien skin, glass 2.0:
and apply these
settings (ofcourse you can also play around with the settings):
You should have a
lovely glassy effect now. But I am going to
add a nice drop shadow too. So, go to (text is still floating) effects,
3d effects,
drop shadow:
and use these
settings:
Well, I have to
say that I can't save this as a gif. I have tried and tried and tried
but the shadow part always comes out awfull. So, it's best to save it as
a jpg
and only use this on white backgrounds. If someone does know a
perfect way to save pictures like this as gifs, let me know. I'd love to
know !!
OK, I usually
select a big part around the text and then copy/paste the selection
as a new image, select like this:
and then go to
edit, copy.......edit, paste, as new image.
This is what I end
up with:
And all I do know
is.....
go to file, save
copy as...

and that's it. You
can get this message:

but just answer
yes and that's it !!
Hugs,
