TO
THOSE WHO GAVE OF THEMSELVES
AND
ASKED NOTHING IN RETURN
TO THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO GRIEVE AND GIVE OUT OF LOVE
TO
OUR SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE THE VERY BEST IN THE ENTIRE WORLD
HEAVEN
THEY STOOD AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
LOOKING DOWN ON THE CLOUDS,
MISTY MORNING, NOT YET DAWN.
iT WAS COLD. THE WIND WAS HOWLING
AND THEY SHUDDERED.
BUT THEIR ARMS WERE LIFTED TO HEAVEN
AND THE LOVE OF THE LORD WARMED THEIR SOULS
THEY STOOD AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAN
WAITING FOR THE SUNRISE.
MIST OF MORNING WASHED THEM CLEAN.
THEY HAD BEEN CALLED AND WERE AWAITING
THE VOICE OF G-D.
IT HAD SUMMONED THEM TO THIS HIGH PLACE
TO LEARN THE SONG OF THE UNIVERSE.
THEY STOOD AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
TO TOUCH THE FACE OF G-D.
THEY SOARED ON MIST OF MORNING.
THEY HEARD THE MUSIC OF THE SPHERES;
REMEMBERED ALL THEIR WOMBDREAMS...
NEVERENDING MORNING, ENDLESS NIGHT.
THEY TRAVERSED THE ROAD OF CREATION.
THEY STOOD ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
LOOKING DOWN ON THE WORLD
WHERE THERE COULD BE NO RETURN.
THEY WERE REBORN IN FIRE OF MORNING
TO LIGHT THEIR WAY
AND THEY HAVE BECOME PART OF
THE SONG OF HEAVEN

SCHOOL OF ART
I found the painting, Jasper Cropsey's "Autumn on the Hudson", to do the
'START' page for the September 11th Website. The original now resides in the Smithsonian.
It might not look quite the same as the original, but without it,
this page would not have been the mixture of Heaven and Earth I have tried
to portray.
