Question:
Why is there a tradition of having an angel on
the top of our Christmas Tree?
Answer: Once upon a time; long, long, ago; way
up North in the land of ice and snow; in a cozy
little cottage; lived Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
One morning Mr. Claus, Santa to his friends, and
all children, awoke to discover that every
button was missing from the flap of his only
pair of clean long-johns. He took a deep breath,
shrugged his shoulders, and said, "Oh
well" and went on about his business.
When he arrived in the kitchen he discovered
that Mrs. Claus had burned not only the toast
but also the coffee. He took a deep breath,
shrugged his shoulders, and said, "Oh
well" and went on about his business.
As he stepped outside, the first thing he
noticed was that one of the runners on his
sleigh was bent and the other was rusty. He took
a deep breath, shrugged his shoulders, and said,
"Oh well' and went on about his business.
He saw that the elves were trying to harness the
reindeer but the beasts were all fighting with
each other while simultaneously suffering from
gastric distress after having over indulged on
mistletoe the previous night. The smelly harness
was all tangled with several pieces broken
apart. He took a deep breath, shrugged his
shoulders, and said, "Oh well" and
went on about his business.
The Shop-steward for the Elves Union #1 stopped
him from going on about his business to demand
additional milk and cookies during the scheduled
work breaks and threatened a work stoppage of
toys if his demands were not met. Santa took a
deep breath, shrugged his shoulders, and said,
"Oh well" and tried to go on about his
business.
Suddenly, he was confronted by a little angel
carrying a Christmas tree. She scowled and
demanded, "Hey, Fat-Boy, what do you want
me to do with this tree?'
Considering our tradition, we must assume that
Santa answered!
