Guide (p. 16)

"Tony Shalhoub doesn't suffer from
obsessive-compulsive disorder like Adrian Monk, the
crime solver he plays on USA's (and ABC's)MONK. But
like most people, he does have mild compulsions. "I
have a real thing about when lights are left on in
rooms and people aren't in them," he says. "I just
don't like that. I think there's something kind of
morally off about that." When it comes to the kitchen,
things get even more iffy. "If there's a stray fork
around, it's got to go in the dishwasher. I
occasionally check the inside of the toaster to see if
the crumb buildup is out of control.""
