I have always thought Birds were Beautiful.

Just the fact that they Fly is amazing.

Instead of Arms they have wings,  No fingers.

But with there feet and beaks they do so much.

They can do almost everything we can and more. 

I have had Birds in my life for a long time and though, the birds I have now are not as tame as my first bird.  I don't love them any less. 

Simply watching them gives me great pleasure!

Candy was my first Bird, a Parakeet.  I got her when I was about 9 years old.  She became very tame.  We would let her run the floor everyday.  She would pick the rug and come over by the couch and climb up the side so she could sit behind us.  She loved to climb my mother's hair and sit on her glasses.  She would also sit in her hair.  Candy would nibble on my moms eyebrows, glasses and ears.  She always wanted to be on your shoulder.  We had to lock the front of her cage because she would lift the door and come out when she wanted to.  We tried Twist ties but she just nibbled them off.

Three years after Candy was bought we got Randy a younger male. Just what Candy needed right. :)  They got along wonderful and Randy also became very tame.  I would lay each one in turn on there backs and give them things to play with, like rubber bands and barrettes.  They would turn the items around with their feet and pick on them.  I would also give them a bath in the bathroom sink.  When they molted (lost their feathers) they would argue over who got to play with the fallen feathers.  Sometimes Candy would even pull in Randy's tail feathers.
