Some years ago, in a dark cove a lioness gave birth to her little cub. The young mother, Embamba, was trying to hide her son from his father, but it's better start from the beginning.

The King of the Pridelands was a very old and sick lion, so he decided to find a mate for his son Ahadi. Yes, Ahadi had already a lioness-friend, but she was careless and wiry: "She can't be a good queen!" thought the King. So, he chose Haiba, daughter of the King of the Greenlands, near the Pridelands. She was kind and graceful: when the King presented Haiba to Ahadi, he fell in love with her and forgot Embamba.

The next month the King died. The same day Embamba went to Ahadi and said him that she was pregnant and she wanted to be his Queen, but he replied saying that he loved Haiba and she had to kill their son. She got angry and ran away; Haiba was hiding in the shadows and listened all: "What!? How did you loved that heap of rubbish? If I'll see it again I'll..." she roared to Ahadi "No worry. She'll never return." he replied. Time flied and Embamba gave birth to her son, but she didn't kill him: she waited for a month living hide in her cave - far from the Pride Rock - till he was more strong, then she bring the cub to the Pride Rock to show to all animals how thankless and not fair was Ahadi. But Haiba saw they and called the King: he ran and blocked Embamba before she arrived to the Pride Rock "What are you doing !? Run away!" roared the King "I'm going to show to all animals how you really are!" Embamba said. Immediately, Haiba bounced upon Embamba. "No! Haiba, stop it!" shouted Ahadi, but when Haiba listened his order, she had already kill the lioness. "And now, her son!" she said cruelly "Haiba, he's MY son, too" Ahadi replied "Let's forget all. Nobody knows this story and nobody has to know it!". The cub was called "Scar" because, during the fight, Haiba wounded his left eye; Scar didn't remember the death of the mother - he was very young - so his parents didn't told him the true.

Three month later, Ahadi and Haiba's son born: he was called Mufasa. At 1 year old, Mufasa began to derided Scar because he was slim and lazy "Hey, heap of rubbish!" "Mufasa, don't bother me!" "Scar is a heap of rubbish! Taka Taka Taka!". Ah, yes, I forgot it: Haiba nicknamed the cub "Taka" because it means "rubbish", the same nickname she gave to his mother. Mufasa was strong and spoilt; Scar was slim and sad. If Mufasa did something wrong, "I didn't do it: Scar did it!" was his defence and his parents always chastised Scar! Mufasa was the first and the better in all: "Oh, my Mufasa! You are a very good boy!" "You're right, Mufasa" "My dear Mufasa..." "Scar: watch your brother and learn!". When Ahadi said that Mufasa'll be King, Scar going mad.

One day, when he was walking alone in the savannah, he met a striped hyena called Drubah: the hyena said that his mother was killed by a lion when he was a little cub "Probably he was Ahadi" thought Scar. Drubah was kind and friendly, so their friendship began, but Scar said nothing to his father because Ahadi hated hyenas.

They were always together: they always played in a elephant graveyard, far from the Pridelands. There Scar met many spotted hyenas, but they were very stupid, so he never trusted they. Mufasa became curious for Scar's happiness, so one morning he follow the brother: when he saw the hyena-pack, he warned the father. The big lion King exiled Drubah and all the hyenas "You're wrong! Drubah is a good hyenas!" said Scar "No, Scar, ALL hyenas are stupid and evil!" roared Ahadi "You don't know him! You're wrong!" "They may kill someone in the Pride Lands: you, for example! YOU are wrong!" "No! I'm wrong only because you're the King and I'm not!" "What!? How dare you! Go to the Pride Rock, stay in your cave and don't go out till I'll give you my permission!" "He was my only friend! You're a MONSTER!" then Scar ran crying to the elephant graveyard. The graveyard was empty and dark; Scar watch the foggy sky and shouted, promising that one day he'll have his revenge.

Three years later Ahadi and Haiba died in a fire, broke out in the Pridelands. Scar, after his promise, lived alone in his cave watching powerless his brother becoming King and having his son Simba from his Queen, Sarabi. The hyenas returned to the elephant graveyard, so Scar went to the graveyard looking for his old friend, but Drubah was missed. Very sad, he returned to the Pride Rock, plotting how get free from Mufasa and his stupid son "Yes! The hyenas! They can help me". The next day, he returned to the graveyard with a piece of flesh for the more friendly hyenas, Shenzi, Ed and Banzai. He tried to be trusted by they: what a easy job! With a bone or a piece of flesh once a week, Scar become their best friend.

The young Simba grown up and Scar decided to tell him about a place where "only the bravest lions" can go: the elephant graveyard! Simba immediately went there with his friend Nala but the hyenas, warned by Scar, were waiting for kill they. Zazu, Mufasa's majordomo, follow the two cubs and flew to say all to the King: Mufasa saved Simba and Nala from the hyenas and bring they to home. But Scar never trusted the hyenas, so he already thought a 2nd way to kill Mufasa and Simba: a stampede.

The next day, he bring Simba to a gorge saying that he have to wait here for his father. Then, the hyenas - Shenzi, Ed and Banzai - scared a herd of gnu; the herd ran into the gorge: the stampede began. Simba tried to saved himself from the gnus climbing on a trunk. Scar warned Mufasa about the danger: he jump to the gorge and brought his son to a safer place, then he tried to climb on the walls of the canyon, but Scar was waiting for him. He wounded Mufasa's paws: "Long live the King" he whispered, than he cast the brother in the gorge. The head ran away and Simba, who saw nothing, find the father. Died. Scar blamed Simba for Mufasa's death: "Run away, and newer return!". The cub escaped from the gorge, but the hyenas tried to kill him again: he jump from the top of a canyon into thorny plants and the hyenas, too big to try to ran after him inside the thorns, let Simba escape from the Pridelands and, fearing Scar's anger, they didn't said him it. Scar became King and let the hyenas to eat all they wanted and invade the Pridelands. Finally, he enjoyed his domination transforming Zazu into a jester, the lionesses into slaves and the hyenas into his army.

He made lots of new rules: no one can said the name "Mufasa"; the lionesses had to hunt for the King and for all the hyenas and they can't eat anything before Scar has finished his meal; any one who didn't agree with the King's order, will be exiled or killed; no one can left from the Pridelands without the King's permission and so on. One day, a hyena went to Scar's cave saying "The lionesses found a foreign striped hyena: he wants to speak with you"; he agreed and the hyenas let the foreigner to met the King. He was Drubah, Scar's old friend; he said that he was the leader of a hyena pack of the West Lands and asked him if they can join to the pridelanders hyenas. "Yes! Great idea!" Scar said "I can see a glorious future: you and I ruling the Pridelands! What about it?" the hyena was excited for this idea and he immediately agreed. Months flied and the dry season began. The beasts migrated into the Greenlands, but Scar won't left from the Pride Rock. The next month the food-problems began: under the kingdoms of the previous Kings it didn't appended because the Pridelands had to fed only the lion pack: the hyenas were more than the savannah can support. Many lionesses asked to Scar his permission to left from the Pridelands, but he didn't agree. The hyenas began to mistrust the King: Drubah tried to persuade Scar to reflect about this dangerous situation, but he wasn't listening "We have to wait for one or two months and the rainy season will finally begin!" he always said. But 2 months later there were no food, no water and the ground had broken. Scar often had splitting headaches and no one dared to speak with him because he was intractable. Many striped hyenas left the Pridelands and went in the Greenlands, but Drubah remained near the Pride Rock with the other. Scar didn't agreed, so he ordered to the lionesses to kill all the escaped hyenas they'll found. When Nala escaped, he roared and reproached the hyenas like a mad for all the day. Then a big and grey cloud arrived to the Pridelands, but it didn't rain. The cloud covered the sky for many days "It's a bad omen" someone said. A bad day a big lion arrived to the Pride Rock. Scar had just reproached and hit Sarabi "Mufasa!?" he asked scared "No, I'm Simba" "Simba? I'm a little surprised to see you...alive" Scar said. The lionesses were helping Simba and he was challenging him, so Scar said to all that Simba was the cause of the death of Simba "Murderer!" he roared "You're in trouble again, but your father isn't here, and now everyone knows why!" and he pushed Simba into the edge of the Pride Rock: the young lion was dangerously hanging when a thunder set fire to the brush wood. Before casting Simba into the fire, Scar said him "I kill Mufasa". The lion pounced upon Scar and forced him to said to all the truth. The hyenas attacked the lionesses, but they were stronger. Scar took advantage from the situation for escaped, but Simba ran after him. When Scar stopped near an edge, Simba overtook him. Scar lied saying that the idea was of hyenas and they're the true enemies. Simba didn't trust him and he said the same words that Scar said him many years ago "Run away, and never return!". Scar attacked Simba, but he fell down from the Pride Rock, where some spotted hyenas, who listened all, where waiting for him. When Drubah and the other striped hyenas arrived to the Pride Rock, it was too late: Scar were killed by the spotted hyenas, escaped with the other runaways, so he brought the survived allies to the West Lands.

Finally it started to rain.

It was a true "bad omen".
