Taka's Reflections
By Cally Highfield

They didn't acknowledge me,
they only noticed him, the elder, the stronger.
They didn't even hear when I called them,
they only noticed him, the one who was the heir.
They didn't want to know me,
they only knew him, his stories, his laughter.
They didn't really need me,
they needed him to carry on their reign.
They didn't really want me,
they planned a son like him...not a weakling like I.
They weren't alive to see him die,
and thankful as I am...
I still regret my actions,
and I still miss them as they never noticed me.
