HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE WORLD!
Everybody from East to West, from South to North: happy new year! I hope you didn't lose parts of your body on December 31, at least: I didn't. New Year was celebrated worldwide without any problems in general. So there's no news on that subject.... let's go on with: January 1, 2002 - €-day!
Today the new currency for some European countries was introduced: the euro. We already had got some coins, because everybody in the
euro-countries got 1 piece of each coin in December. Last night people could check out the new banknotes as well! It was very busy at the banks, because everybody wanted to "show off" with the new money or check it out anyway. Tonight I drove to the bank and got €10,- just to check it out. A lot of people say the money looks like 'toys for children to play with'. I think it's just a matter of time... I made a picture of myself holding a note of €10,-
EUR 1,- = USD 0.89 / €1,- = $0.89 |
